Again sorry for it being so short but it just happened! xD
Chapter Six
She hates me? How can she hate me without even knowing me? If anyone should hate anyone, shouldn’t I be hating her for trying to steal my ex? Isn’t that in the girl code or something? Whatever I don’t have time to think about that right now. From this moment on, I promise myself that whatever world I am in, I will think about my problems in that world and that world alone. I don’t need Mason freaking out about my problems with James or James freaking out about Connor. I open my eyes and realize that I am in the same room as always. I look around and see the one and only James lying on the couch next to the bed. He looks so peaceful but I know that he is awake. No one can sleep in here, after all this is a dream world. As if he hears me sit up, he opens his eyes and sits up. I look at him and his blue eyes pierce mine as if they are looking into my very soul. We sit just staring at each other for what seems like forever. A knock at the door startles us. I look and see Lily walking into the room dressed in a blue dress that brings out her eyes. She looks from me to James and puts up her hands as if in surrender.
“Sorry! I didn’t realize I was interrupting anything.”
Just as I was about to go on my knees and kiss her feet for walking through the door and stopping out awkward silence, James spoke.
“It’s cool. You didn’t know but can you please leave us alone? I have to talk to Jess.”
He smiled at her and she smiled back. Their smiles were similar except for the fact that Lily had absolutely no teeth. She started out when James spoke again.
“Tell my dad that I’ll meet him in two hours.”
She giggled, nodded, and left. As soon as she left the atmosphere changed. I had so many questions that I didn’t even know where to begin. James moved to the foot of the bed. He started the conversation, because if he left it up to me we would never talk for two hours.
“So, what’s up?”
Is he serious? I looked at him and made sure that he saw my eyes roll. He smiled but they looked despicable now. I was about to yell at him, but he didn’t even deserve my anger. When he realized that I wasn’t going to talk, he spoke again.
“So you’re just going to ignore me, now? Because of some stupid thing my dad said?”
I nodded.
“Whatever.”
He threw his hands up and got up. He paced back and forth from one side of the room to another. He suddenly stopped and looked down at my Bon Jovi guitar. He picked it up and smiled.
“Remember this day? When we rocked out with Bon Jovi and he called us awesome fans?”
I nodded. Of course I remember bringing my idol to my world. How could I ever forget something so special? It was literally the best day of my dream life. He shook his head.
“What do you think that he would do if he found out that you created this world and that you were a third angel, third demon, and third human?”
I shrugged. I never thought of that. He placed it down and came back to sit on the bed. He ran his fingers through his black hair and sighed.
“Just tell me what to do and I’ll do it. I promise that I will do everything in my power to make you love me again.”
He looked at me with pleading eyes. Is he serious? He actually thinks that I hate him? I far from hate him, I just lost my trust in him.
“You can’t.”
He looks at me and looks so sad, that I had to confirm what I was trying to say. I touched his forearm.
“You can’t because I don’t hate you.”
A smile swept across his face. He hugged me. I hate to say it but no hugs were as good as Mason’s. He continued to hold me but I pushed him away. He looked befuddled.
“I thought you said you don’t hate me?”
“I don’t.”
This confused him even more. He pinched the bridge of his nose.
“So you don’t hate me but you don’t want me to even touch you?”
I shrugged. He pretty much just summed up my feelings into one sentence.
“Please explain.”
I could barely talk with him anymore. He seemed a stranger to me now. Maybe I was getting worked up over nothing, though. He probably had a very reasonable explanation for why he is in my world and how he got here.
“I don’t trust you.”
He seemed appalled.
“Don’t trust me? How could you not trust me? When have I ever lied to you?”
I looked at him.
“How did you get in here, James?”
He was taken aback. He started to fiddle with his hands and I knew he was nervous.
“You never asked that before. So, technically, I didn’t lie.”
I had to breathe in and out to keep calm.
“ It’s the same thing.”
He shook his head.
“Does it even matter? To me, all that matters is that you and I are in here together.”
He touched my cheek and smiled. I turn away from his hand.
“There isn’t going to be a you and I if you don’t answer me.”
He looked surprised more than anything. I never argued with James, mostly because he was pretty much perfect.
“I’d rather not.”
I pointed to the door.
“Then get out of this house. I’m going to send you back to you normal dream.”
He looked at me and chuckled. Okay, so I expected him to grovel or follow my orders, not chuckle.
“You can’t.”
I scowled at him. He was really getting on my nerves. I wanted to punch him.
“And why not?”
He shrugged and touched my arm. His hand felt weird so I looked down and realized that I was looking at a big hairy hand. It looked like a grown man’s hand, not James’ boyish hands. I looked up at James and he was smiling. I tried pulling away but he wouldn’t let go.
“James let go now!”
He kept his grip strong. He wasn’t letting go so I stopped trying to get out of it. He spoke.
“Babe, don’t you want to know the answer to what you just asked me?”
I had nothing to do but just nod. He smiled and loosened the grip a little bit.
“You cannot hurt me or ‘banish’ me into my dream world because…”
He looked like pure evil. He face started to transform. His blue eyes turned lime green and his skin was turning lighter and lighter. He had a nice tan but now he looked as white as a piece of paper. His hands were becoming manlier and his muscles became bigger and bigger. His hair was turning from black to a very light brown on the verge of being blonde. I was about to ask him what the heck was going on when he spoke. He smiled even wider and let out a chuckle before starting.
“Well, because…”
He chuckled again and soon righted himself. His now lime green eyes peered into mine and he spoke softly but it didn’t help. His voice sent a shiver down my spine, like his father’s had a few dreams ago.
“I am The Change, or as you know me, your father.”…………………………………..
